The River, DVD

By now you know there's some kind of religion growing having to do with fly fishing and film. Various films tour the country every year filling up theatres and auditoriums to capacity. Recently a film was featured in one of these touring events, a film called 'The Brothers Brown' about a couple of obsessed anglers on the big water section of the fabled Ausable River in Michigan. This DVD features the full version of that film. But the main feature is the utterly lush yet comprehensive film about the river itself -- the Ausable, where Trout Unlimited began, and where battles are fought for protection and rights. Also in the DVD is a profile of bamboo rod-making legend, Bob Summers, resident of northern MIchigan and purveyor of elite custom bamboo rods to the fly fishing world for decades. The River: 120 Minutes
The Brothers Brown: 43 minutes
Summers: 25 minutes
