LIMITED EDITION Scarf: Quail, Feathers & Pines
Now on sale for a limited time only!
Another Bobwhite Quail scarf, this new design we were asked to create. Make one with pines, feathers, and a blue border, they said. Okay, we said back. The result? Still an original design and uniquely Painted Trout scarf, just not hand-made in our studios. The difference is about a couple of hundred dollars, but the effect is the same. Staggeringly dramatic silk twill (can you hear that swish when you pull it from your collar?) in a big-as-it-should be large square (36 x 36 inches to be exact). Add this one to your wardrobe and be stopped on the street and asked where you got it. Gift box included.

We have seen what an impact this 36-inch square scarf has when people see (and feel) it. Sporty and chic, the original version of this scarf sold for close to $300, but we had it reproduced (with some changes of course) in a LIMITED EDITION, so now it can be yours. Though we think this cream color is the most versatile, if you'd like us to over-dye it another color, please give us a call at 734-580-2102 to discuss what you have in mind.
Silk Scarf: Galloping Horses, Limited Edition
Our limited edition equestrian design: 'Galloping Horses.' The color? Luscious hard-to-describe olive/toast/golden brown. Luxurious charmeuse silk, about 10 x 60 inches, hand rolled hem. This is a replication of an original one-of-a-kind design, kind of the way prints are copies of original art, but when they are signed and numbered, you know there are only a few of them in the world. Same with this scarf. We only had 50 of them made. We are down to the last few, now. A great gift idea for any horse lover, rider, equestrian, hunter, or even veterinarian. Gift box included.

Silk Scarf: Bonefish Blues
Here's a fun little silk scarf hand-made by Lauren Kingsley, owner of The Painted Trout. By hand-made we mean, hand dyed and and printed. She did all the drawings and made the silk screens for the print, and mixed up all the dye etc to complete the design. Look closely and you'll see two layers of Bonefish as well as the layer of bones. This is a one-of-a-kind scarf. 8' x 54'

Paisley Road Inside Out Shawl
The Inside Out Shawl is great when you need an extra layer of warmth on a cold day or simply to jazz up an outfit. Either way you'll love how cuddly soft they are. It is made in a soft poly/cotton blend with two coordinating colors and fringed edges. These shawls have a unique manufacturing process, as they are woven from yarn that is dyed in the base color, then the second color is printed on the base scarf, resulting in a two-tone scarf. Clever, but tricky to pull off.
Soft, medium weight, with a dense weave for warmth in cool weather.
73" x 25"
Silk Scarf: Trout with Ferns and Rust Border
The joy of hand painting each trout on a silk scarf is that they are so individual, just like trout in the wild. Brook trout, Rainbow trout, Brown trout, and even a Greenback Cutthroat trout! This scarf celebrates all the beautiful fish with beautiful colors: swimming trout on pale gold, ringed with a border of soft green ferns defined against the rust border. Oh, don't forget those swirling mayflies scattered among the fish. Classic China silk, hand-painted using highest quality French acid dyes. These colors look great on everyone. Some folks use our scarves as wall hangings, some drape them over their pianos. Show this work of art your own way. 11 x 60 inches. Hand-sewn rolled hem.
Silk Scarf: Stripers on Blue Crepe Square
Hand-painted and hand-printed large square silk scarf of swimming fish, Atlantic Stripers, to be exact. We love this blue __ it looks good on everyone, is fun to wear yet classy, and in this size goes with everything in any season. We started with our original drawings of Atlantic Stripers and watery waves, made silkscreens from then, handprinted these onto the silk and began hand painting each fish and the areas in between the waves. There's nothing else like it out there. The photos show me painting away. Approx. 36" square, hand-rolled hem. Gift box included.
Silk Scarf: Pheasants and Oak Leaves on Rust
Pheasants, Oak leaves, and pine boughs on hand-dyed mesh silk. Our warm, flattering chestnutty rust color flatters everyone and goes with practically anything you're wearing (some of our scarves are used as table runners, also!). All images are our original print designs from drawings we made from life. We've got quite a few pheasants here on our farm. It's nice when we're working in the studio or office and hear them talk or squawk out by the spruce trees and white pines that run between our yard and the field. 12 x 60 inches. Hand rolled hem. Design turns at midpoint so birds are right side up when scarf is hanging from behind the neck. 3-inch fringe. Includes gift box.
Silk Scarf: Fifty Shades of Grey Trout
This very special print, a panoply of lovely greys (and even a green and a blue here and there) features Lauren Kingsley's original design print of trout and ferns created from hand-made silk screens of her drawings. The silk, a sumptuous light flat crepe silk, is about 11-inches wide, 60-inches long, with an additional 3-inch fringe. All hand-dyed, hand-printed and certainly one-of-a-kind. Includes gift box, as always.
Silk Scarf: Ducks on Brown Square
Here's a most alluring brown silk scarf - sort of a cross between golden brown and rust, with a little, um, let's call it chestnut. We hand printed our own duck designs in a border pattern, then overprinted everything with a subtle print of a mulberry branch, and finished it off with a hand painted dark brown border. Clearly, as one-of-a-kind as they come. Approximately 30 inches square. Gift box included.
Silk Scarf: Brook Trout and Autumn Leaves
Brook Trout have their addicts. But even a novice can never quite describe the beauty when one of these miracles is lifted out of the water. It only takes one time. And then we recently heard from a fly-fisher/tyer/guide friend (Jeff 'Bear' Andrews, actually) all about his guided fishing trips to Labrador for massive wild Brook trout. It set our imagination aflame, and we came up with a new suite of drawings that led to a new set of silk-screens, all with the idea of creating an all-Brook-Trout scarf. Here is one outcome of those efforts: hand-dyed golden yellow Haboti Silk (extra wide),with hand-painted Oak, Maple and Aspen leaves, pine boughs and mayflies in flight. It's 13 x 60 inches, wide enough to wear lightly draped over the shoulders, with a hand sewn rolled hem. Some folks use our scarves as wall hangings, some drape them over their pianos. Show this work of art your own way. Gift box included.
Silk Pocket Square, Plum-Charcoal Troutlines
100% silk twill pocket square hand-dyed a subtly plum-tinged charcoal color. Warm yet masculine, and as unique as you are. The we hand printed overlapping outlines of trout of various lineages. This small scarf is one of our most popular pattern styles. A great textured pattern that looks good in a pocket, as a hair band, neckerchief, or as a hanky. How's that for functional? 17 inches square, hand-rolled hem.
